One time I had to get from the airport over to my uncle’s place in Washington Heights. He is in a PANIC. They all think I’m country dumb, you know. I tell him, “oh I just stand at the subway looking confused until someone brings me to you.” Literally works every time.
30 years and I’ve never bothered to learn the trains. I just stand there and look like I’m from somewhere else. A New Yorker takes care of the rest for me.
