My buddy (and future Best Man) Kobayashi Maru-ed an urban objective lane during our training for Afghanistan as a 2LT. Every other PLT that went into the town went to meet the local elder but was massacred in an ambush every time (I was on BN staff then so I wasn't participating)
It was designed by infantry officers for infantry officers doing an infantry mission, but this was a combined arms battalion and we were fresh Armor officers, blissfully unaware of how we were "supposed" to think.
He never dismounted. He ordered his trucks into a wedge and drove around the town searching for enemies to engage with his mounted weapons.
He almost ran over the ambush and they ran away, leaving the enemy in the town isolated and confused. They began firing out at the trucks.

The Battalion Commander called ENDEX and re-cocked the lane, and told him to go into the town this time.
