For anyone in health equity research who’s paying attention to #COVID19 vaccine rollout, this is obvious
But still grateful to @KHNews for documenting. Seeing this play out on the ground is so frustrating https://twitter.com/larry_levitt/status/1352621369503010817

Here’s this gem for your consideration. Honestly the article’s headline reads like something that should be in @TheOnion. But no, this is real life... https://twitter.com/texastribune/status/1352274813700734979
5/ This thread is good & I’m grateful to @GovindPersad for it bc I haven’t been able to come up with (non-curse-filled) language to counter this view that prioritizing populations who are suffering the most #COVID19 cases & death is somehow wrong. I don’t have words. https://twitter.com/govindpersad/status/1352348686081114114
6/ This is the key point he makes eloquently. I really don’t understand how people don’t get this. I really just don’t get it. https://twitter.com/govindpersad/status/1352348694297800704
8/ Vaccine hesitancy is an issue but it’s addressable... https://twitter.com/operaqueenie/status/1352309287213649920
9/ in the mean time, some neighbors and I collectively spent 4-6 hours over several days trying to help one 80yo get vaccinated. She doesn’t have a computer. She’s called multiple phone numbers. She doesn’t want to wait outside on line bc it’s cold..and she’s 80 yo...
10/ ... her children (who love her dearly) even suggested that she travel 4 hrs to where they live so they can help her in person. But she doesn’t want to drive 4 hours and shouldn’t have to.
11/ Finally a community org in the neighborhood was connected to vaccination officials and is going to facilitate. I’m so grateful. This is an organization that has been doing phone well checks on folks and delivering hot meals week in and week out for the past year...
12/ They know everyone already. They know their needs and people trust them because they’ve been showing up this whole time. These groups and people should be at the center of our vaccination strategy.
13/ With the new administration, I’m hopeful but this is still so frustrating to watch when best practices are pretty clear. The current strategy is not it.
