CESAR CHAVEZ THREAD: Is President Biden sending a message to immigrant communities by placing the bust of Cesar Chavez front and center in the Oval Office? When conservatives see his bust we assume he is embracing Chavez's Marxist views, but what do immigrants see?
/ Immigrants, especially those from Mexico, are well aware of Cesar Chavez's opposition to Mexicans who came to America illegally. Chavez was a fervent opponent of illegal immigration and routinely called Mexicans 'wetbacks'.

/ The irony is that Cesar Chavez didn't oppose illegal immigration by Mexicans because he didn't like Mexicans, instead, he opposed illegal immigration because it exploited both the illegal and legal migrants. https://www.huffpost.com/entry/cesar-chavez-wetbacks-immigrants-illegals_n_3008985
/ Today in the US there are more than 20 million illegal aliens in the country forced to live in the shadows without full access to our social safety nets. They are exploited by criminals. Cesar Chavez knew this and fought hard to keep them out. https://reason.com/volokh/2021/01/21/president-biden-honors-one-of-the-most-influential-opponents-of-illegal-immigration-in-american-history/
/ The irony is that President Trump's views on immigration mirrored those of Cesar Chavez. https://www.nationalreview.com/2017/03/cesar-chavez-illegal-immigration-foe/
/ Cesar Chavez was a Marxist but he fought illegal immigration not because he was a racist but because he loved both legal and illegal immigrants. So back to my original question, what message is President Biden sending by placing his bust behind his desk in the Oval Office?
