Interesting to hear former Ofgem CEO Dermot Nolan's views on whether the regulator should be given a statutory duty to deliver net zero (at a @SustainFirst webinar). He suggests it would be "not transformative, but positive, and better than a policy statement"
Dermot also suggests that the final recommendations from the Penrose review of competition policy have been submitted to government. In the autumn policy deluge I can't pretend to have been tracking it. Should I expect to be worried, delighted or indifferent?
Historically Penrose has been a big fan of merging utility regulators and has a love/hate relationship with the energy price cap.
