fox news content is unwatchable hot garbage, not just politically - it’s really weird campy schtick. but fox viewers loved it because every day trump would hop online and smash out blurbs of what he saw his weird campy teevee friends saying, so they tuned in to be a part of it

now they’ve got a channel that’s all weird campy schtick that’s been tailored to a dude who is not only out of power but is so powerless he can’t even tweet what he sees on the teevee and keep the viewers feeling like they’re part of the show

what happens when viewers can’t quite put their finger on it but tuning in now feels boring and detached and depressing, because the entire network has been calibrated to appeal to the interests of exactly one campy & weird old man to earn his tweets

think we get to find out if we’ve underlooked the tribal power of people looking at their phone thinking “I’m watching the same thing the president is watching! and then I retweeted him! I’m practically the president!”

so much of this shit is looked at through a political lens as a bizarre oddity for not obeying any traditional logical consistency rules of politics, but it’s not politics; it’s a giant group therapy session
