Correctives to the rule breaking thesis form ONS. Latest data suggests:

-96% using face coverings
-93% avoiding physical contact with others
-65% only leaving home for work, exercise or shopping (highest level since May 2020)
-Proportion of adults WFH highest since summer
Intrigued to hear talk of “perverse incentives” with regard to self isolation payments. Would love to see the data set which points to substantial numbers of people *deliberately* catching Covid for the chance of £500, with all the associated risks to them and their families.
And if there are substantial numbers of people willing to do that, perhaps it says something about the wider economic situation, how fragile the existence of so many right now actually is and a need for a more substantial policy response which goes beyond covid.
