Ilkay finds himself a bit further up field and scores as City fail to breakdown Bilic’s last stand. Rodri in nose bleed territory (16) and Jesus trying to muck in with the dm duties (9) 😬
City drop to 9th after the draw 4/
City vs Newcastle December 26th
Ilkay has steadied his positioning, he’s happy in the left channel role just over the halfway line and gets himself another goal.
City form has steadied and they’re moving in the right direction again, 6th 5/
City vs Brighton January 13th
Ilkay creeps further forward as the double pivot is but a distant memory.
Covid can’t stop City creeping into the top 3 almost unnoticed

Ilkay fancies a bit of more of the action centrally. Bags himself a screamer.
City move into 2nd and get themselves amongst the title talk. The PL annoyingly don’t log a league table after this match but the BBC step into the breach 7/

Ilkay abandons the centre circle and pushes himself higher and wider.
City briefly touch the summit but ultimately remain in 2nd 8/
The only logical conclusion is Ilkay playing False against Sheffield United as City go top of the league 😉 9/
