Why we're struggling this season with results and goals, A thread
So as you know are system heavily involved our fullback's providing all our creativity up front and you've seen the impressive numbers Trent and Robbo have put up and the success we've had with system
As everyone knows we play a highline however due to vvd and Gomez (klopps preferred centre halves last season) both picking up injuries it's been different this season which I'm going to explain now
Due to vvd and Gomez being very quick centre backs we play a highline which is why the fullback's play as a LM or RM if you like
However due to them being out were playing fabinho and matip/Hendo.They are all not quick compared to vvd and Joe so therefore were playing a deeper line than we prefer so the fullback's aren't able to play as High up the pitch as they want and play as more traditional full backs
So as a result of this our creativity from the fullback's isn't anywhere near as good as last year due to as I've said so we're relying on the front 3 and defensively minded midfielder's to provide this and crosses that clearly aren't working this year.
And obviously with the absence of vvd who is arguably our most important player that's obviously having a big impact on the team but I don't like making excuses even tho I'm guilty of it
And obviously with us going into this season with 3 centre backs is not good enough for the prem champions and as a result fabinho is playing centre back instead of midfield when he's one of our best midfielders and was a vital part of our prem winning campaign up until Christmas
