I am on site by 7am, but I'm not the first to arrive. Members of the team are already working hard to get things set for the day! #Volunteer shifts start at 7:30 and they are starting to trickle in too. I head to the "office" [really a locker room!] to tackle my inbox. [2/x]

The #CovidVaccine arrives on site at 7:30, delivered from our secure inventory location (we don't store it in the arena for safety). We are lucky to have many #volunteer #pharmacists helping us out - these two have 50+ years of hospital experience between them! [3/x]

The arena doors open at 7:58 and the first round of cars is loaded in immediately. Today we give our first shot at 8:02! Our roster for the day is 100% educators from our public school system. We are proud to partner with @JCPSKY to get our kids #BackToSchool soon! [4/x]

part but the real #SecretSauce is #logistics. We need lots of supplies to keep this show going: markers, clipboards, PPE, sanitizing wipes / gel, clocks, snacks, + more!

I spent the last hour in #Zoom meetings making sure the team is updated on what we accomplished yesterday & what we have planned for today. We also update leadership from various #LouisvilleMetro agencies so everyone is operating from the same page. #Communication is key! [6/x]

Lunch today from @MissionBBQ - thanks to local supporters for feeding our staff!
We've given over 600 injections so far & are now into our 2nd shift of volunteers.
I also just got COVID tested - part of our mitigation protocol for staff on site. Luckily still negative! [9/x]

Just took delivery of TWO more biosafety hoods for our pharmacists to work in. We are now equipped to handle both Moderna [what we are giving right now] OR Pfizer - whatever it takes to get more supply here at #LouVax! [10/x]

Time for a meeting with the #LouVax leadership team. Jenna [last week's employee of the week!] manages our 4000+ volunteers, Ed is project manager & deals with operations, Taylor (feeling shy) handles staff + budget concerns. We work "closely" together - from 6 feet apart! [11/x]
