No one has ever sat you down and explained to you what the things you're saying mean to POC ears. In fact, most white people will say they hate racists. And tbf they do. Unfortunately they only understand racism existing as someone dropping N-bombs and having 2/

White supremacist tattoos. They don't understand the weight of the language they use on the daily, or how fucked the things they say after "I'm not racist but..." are. Racism lurks like a riptide under the otherwise placid shoreline of white culture. 3/

Social media has definitely had some huge negative impacts on society, but it's given POC a voice to share the overwhelming number of stories that white America has been ignorant to throughout our history. The very least we can do is start taking those stories to heart 4/

Because once we know we are absolutely obligated to do our part to fix things. And at this point no one can pretend they don't. 5/5
