People often ask me who has had the most impact on me in my life. My mind would often take me to people who have shared advice, authored books, given lectures, or offered insight and answers to problems that I was going through.
It's only been in the last few years that I've come to realize the people who have had the most impact on me are the ones that didn't provide words to live by but rather provided comfort and assurance at times that were challenging.
Some of my greatest influences are individuals who were willing to sit with me in silence for hours as I became acquainted with my own confusions and life's obstacles simply so I wouldn't be alone as I faced them.
They were comfortable with not knowing answers or how to fix things so to speak. What they provided was so much more important than that.
I pray that all of you meet people like that and that each of us becomes like that for someone else as well - people who touch not with their words on hands, but rather touch with their hearts. May we be from amongst them. Ameen.
