THE VILLAGE
----------------------
Farmers? Village? Yes, they are different.

While there is a lot of discussion on what these 3 Farm laws might (not) do the Farmer, there is seldom any serious talk on what these might do to the most basic settlement of humans i.e. The Village.
A village surely has farmers living in it, BUT they aren't the only ones there. In Farmers too, surely not the land owning ones only.

Any typical village anywhere in India (except small tribal habitats), is a very "complete ecosystem" which exists.

And THAT is under threat.
It took a lot to setup a village. It took generations to establish, what is being (planned) destroyed under a meticulous nefarious plan.

Yes, Farmer is just a part of it. The aim is to destroy the village.

Why? For that we have to understand what/why the village is/works.
A typical village has approx 20 to 50% non land owner/non farmers, depending on where you are in South Asia.

Blacksmiths, Cobblers, Wood turners, Dyers, Tailors, Medicine men, Shopkeepers, Tool makers, Barbers, Daily wagers, Weavers, Artists, Priests..

Yes, the whole Universe.
Now when a plan comes into being, to grab most of the lands / to make farmers quit farming, who gets hit?

Obviously the Farmer. Bur more than, the VILLAGE is hit.

The Farmer either happily sells/leases his land off or is forced too, HE STOPS FARMING. Large land tracts emerge.
These large tracts are then worked upon by large farmers /corporations who employ specialised machinery or individuals to cut costs & reduce the man power involved.

So the locals get less involved year by year. The local land owning farmer who sold/leased his land, moves out.
Remember TATAS shifted their Nano plant from WB to Gujarat, but after 3 years, majority of workers in Guj plant were Bihari/Bengalis again.

Same will happen to agro.

Locals start moving out from villages in large numbers. Outsiders come in with their ghettos/their culture.
When local ancillary players /service providers / landless don't get work for cash or barter for a while, they too start looking for avenues elsewhere.

Obviously the Corporate who is farming their area doesn't need their daily services, with all his back end logistics/supplies.
Now, this is the TIPPING POINT or where the cascading affect gathers pace.

Suddenly, seeing no future locally, the exodus starts.

But where would they go? Which other village nearby has need for them? Because each village was self sufficient unit in itself. Cant absorb more.
The land owning farmer who sold or leased his land still MIGHT HAVE options. He could act as a subcontractor for someone locally or start a new venture.

But majority of ancillary guys / daily chore workers / landless they all rush out and flock to cities / industrial hubs.
Have we started imagining the exodus now?

Have we started imagining the social / mental toll it has taken while all this was happening?

All the vices that comes with either no money now / or excess money flooding to a few now? That's the SOCIAL TOLL. That's the HEALTH toll.
Now once uprooted from their Villages, people reach out to either the cities / industrial hubs.

That's what the Corporate wanted after all.

Where else would they get cheap labour to burn in their factories OR be their cheap servants in cities.

But r our towns & cities ready?
No, our already crumbling infra in cities and industrial shanties isn't ready.

This would thus lead to more pressure on them, resulting in its decimation (remember the ruins of historic cities?).

Et Voila!

That's an opportunity for the Industrialist / Corporate again!
The Corporate now owns your housing, your work, your food supply, your healtcare, your education.

But it will do only as much to make you survive, not live.

Remember the movie Elysium starring Matt Damon? Yupp same.

So my friends, the plan is not the Farmers. It's THE VILLAGE.
It will start with the farmer, but it will destroy the oldest & the most basic human civilisation unit i.e. THE VILLAGE.

It will lead to the uprooting which'll make us lose not only our lands but our social bonds, our brotherhood, our camaraderie, our oneness, our STRENGTH.
How could we stand up to this Leviathan called the Govt?

Because we were ONE.

Why were we ONE? Because we stayed together for thousands of years in our villages.

Once uprooted, we'll sprinkle over a huge land mass & be insignificant.

This BEING ONE is what differentiates us.
So NO.

We are not fighting for the FARMER now.

We are fighting to save our social fabric, our brotherhood, our Oneness.

What else is this magical bond that glued us & brought us together in one go.

Brotherhood.

And that's because of THE VILLAGE.

Let's save it.
