I didn't believe it myself, I had to check several times. But here it is. We all know Biden won 306-232, meaning that 37 EC votes would have resulted in a tie. A tie would have HANDED THE ELECTION TO TRUMP.
It's just staggering to me. With how historic Biden's popular vote victory was, with how inspiring and incredible it felt to have 81 MILLION Americans rally against fascism and white supremacy... It was all only 43k votes away from being ruined.
43k votes and Trump wins despite losing by 7 MILLION votes, a margin that is larger than many entire countries. This system is not sustainable. Had 43k Biden voters stayed home... would we have been at the Capitol? What would have been the right thing to do? Just accept it?
I'm too terrified to imagine it and I'm so glad those 43k Biden voters DIDN'T stay home. So don't you think for a second that every effort you made didn't matter! It all mattered! Every dollar and phone call. But the other side of this is...
If we let up even a TINY bit going forward, they take back power. It's that easy. The system is rigged in their direction and it takes absolutely all of everything we have to ensure that doesn't happen. Keep the energy! Please!
