Graham just told Hannity that if the Senate GOP has the votes to dismiss the new impeachment article, House managers shouldn't be allowed to make their case and the article should be dismissed. If they *don't* have the votes, he says Trump gets weeks to prepare. See how it works?
Graham also—though he's a former prosecutor—said it was astonishing that in America a man would be indicted before he has a lawyer.

Fun fact: almost everyone in America who gets indicted gets indicted before they have a lawyer.

So why is a lawyer lying to America about the law?
I normally wouldn't mention this because I don't really care, but I have to say that Graham looked manifestly unwell during his appearance on Hannity just now. He looked pale and withdrawn and honestly a little bit like a vampire. I just don't know what is going on with that man.
I hope it won't surprise anyone that I'm very much in favor of Trump being given time to prepare for his impeachment trial. That's entirely appropriate. But unlike Graham, I don't believe a vote to dismiss the article can be taken until after the House managers finish their case.
I strongly believe that lawyers like me and Graham should be *guardians* of the integrity of our system of justice. I may strongly dislike Trump, but he deserves time to prepare his defense. Meanwhile, Graham is a lawyer acting like a lobbyist paid to undermine the law by Trump.
(PS) I admit it was a difficult call to support immediate Senate action prior to the end of Trump's term. My thinking at the time was that if Congress and federal law enforcement had intelligence establishing that Trump was a national security threat, they had to act immediately.
