thinkn a lot abt rei for this eva rewatch.. shes such a terrifying & soft & abstract character & the ways i relate to & understand her go beyond saying that i like or love her, bc like her im a mirror person 
when she says shes "bound" to piloting the eva, but is actually bonded to all ppl... but no1 reciprocates for her. i smh at shinji calling this "strength", & for assuming she doesnt understand his exp when shes been piloting longer than him 
also like, upon this rewatch of ep5 the ending where shinji says she shld smile & anno saying that was the "end of her arc as a character" truly feels a bit like character assassination.. men thinking lifelong trauma & abusive neglect is-
- solved by telling a women to "just smile!" "just choose to feel better!" pat on the back like. what. who r u ??? lol idk i cld b mad bc evrything abt rei feels so personal 2 me. ok w/w anno 
gna sit on what rei means by being bonded to all ppl binding her to the eva. i think there is a lot in that sentence
