See lots of fellow libs and neolibs fighting with Marxists and leftists. Been tempted into it too. Don't. Just disengage. Let them grow. They are incredibly toxic and will destroy their community. Focus on making the case for what you believe, rather than against what you oppose.
The increasing rise of crazies in far left youtube, streaming, and twitter circles, is good for us. People who defend the Iranian regime, Assad apologists, Maoists, Maduro worshipers, antisemites, and so on. They just look bad. They will make their community a toxic brand.
Besides. When people pander to extremists, they reap what they sow. An extremist is never satisfied with any compromise and will devour whatever he latches onto. I experienced this before with conservatives who deluded themselves into thinking they could control the alt right.
Make the case for liberal democracy. Don't waste your time on people who claim Iran is some anti imperialist good guy, that peace in the middle east requires killing half the worlds jews, and that increasing Chinese communist influence should be welcomed.
Youtube has been dominated by far right and far left, antidemocratic voices for a long time. Let's just calmly, patiently, and politely carve out a place for liberal democracy.
