To Preface: Kid Cudi and Kanye West— While both legends in their own right—haven’t always been comparable. With a long history of beef and conflicts, the 2018 collab seemingly came out of left field, and reignited Ye and Cudi as 1 of the best creative groups to come from the 10’s
Track 1: Feel The Love
Like Ye, Kanye produces this album to have a lightning in a bottle quality to it
Pusha T, hot off a recent album release, comes in with a hot verse, taking influence from his 80s coke rap idols as well as making the flow his own...

...After the verse ends, Kanye comes in with some harsh and emotionally packed gun noises, which is a clear juxtaposition to the chorus by Kid Cudi, where he triumphantly sings out, “I can still feel the love!”
Track 2: Fire
Kanye starts off Fire with a solid verse about ignoraning his haters and having total self confidence. This isn’t the first time Ye has delved into musical statements against his haters. We saw this in 2009 with Graduations standout track ‘Can’t tell me nothing’...

...singing completely on pitch, which meshes well with Kanye’s braggadocious and confident delivery
The song ends with some beautifully mixed acoustic guitar, which closes the song beautifully, right before transcending to a hard hitting catchy song that is ‘4th Dimension’

Track 3: 4th Dimension
Sampling an old christmas song to eerie effect, and chiseling bars to match.
Kanye geniusly spits, ‘If I get locked up, I won’t finish the sent-‘ referring to the fact he is getting old, as well as how he is rich, and commonly rich people are able...

...to buy their way out of jail. West also brilliantly and literally doesn’t finish his sentence, connecting the whole bar.
Cudi also delivers one of his best verses on the album, flowing beautifully over the beat, and finding his rhythm for the entirety of the 8 bar verse.

Track 4: Freeee (Ghost Town, Pt. 2)
Freeee is a sequel to Ghost Town, a highlight track off Ye’s prior solo album where both Kanye and Kid Cudi are featured. Kanye was somber and solace in Ghost town, but changed his tone completely in Freeee. The track begins with building...

...guitar and electric sounds like that of a futuristic rock band, where Kanye is confidently belting out how he feels “Freeeeee” with such confidence it sounds as if he’s undergone a spiritual awakening. Kanye songs with such emotionally packed delivery it makes the listener...
...understand how Kanye feels at the time of recording the song. While both parts of Ghost Town are the climactic portion of the album, Freeee is a much happier and much more exciting peep into Kanye and Kid Cudi’s psyche...
Track 5: Reborn
With the task of following the epic ballad that is Freeee, Ye and Cudi take a more laid back approach to the next song.

...though tough times. Kid Cudi is someone who has spoken about feelings of depression long before many artists, and especially Kanye. Hearing Kid Cudi’s calming and motivational lyrics to “Keep moving forward” never fails to drive and inspire.
Track 6: Kids See Ghosts
Kids See Ghosts is a song that deals with Kanye and Kid Cudi’s desire to return to a simpler time. Both artists have talked lengthy about their desire to return to their childlike innocence, and delves deep into what their childish desires really mean...

...Both individuals have suffered the loss of a parent can attest to going through depressive or bipolar like episodes. Kids see Ghosts beautifully weaves this concept into the album while also piggy backing off the prior track themes of not giving up.
Track 7: Cudi Montage
Cudi Montage begins with a acoustic guitar that tells us this song is going to be raw. This track won’t rely on big dramatic beats like tracks like Freeee used, but that Cudi’s and Kanye’s voice will be their instrument. Cudi begins with a great verse...

...then moving onto the chorus. Cudi starts to hum, which is a settling sound, but begins to splash in ad libs like ‘Stay strong’ and ‘Lord shine your light on me’
One of the central themes of Kids See Ghosts has been overcoming past struggles, and this track cements this theme.

After Cudi’s verse subsides, Kanye raps about world peace, and using the lord’s guidance to push him to greater and better judgment. Kanye dreams for a better, more balanced world where everyone can draw inspiration from the same people that he does; The Lord
As the chords built, Kanye begins his chorus for the song, using the same lines that Cudi used, with some looping chords to help his message come through clear and focused, to form the perfect, cohesive ending to the epic ballad that KIDS SEE GHOSTS proves to be.
KIDS SEE GHOSTS marked a influential moment in both Kanye West and Kid Cudi’s Careers, serving as a landmark rap album by many critics and fans alike.
Kids See Ghosts had every reason to be lacking or out of place with both artists past conflicts and creative blocks, but somehow pulls off its off the walls style of production and delivery.
