Jason Kenney placed a $7.5 billion dollar bet on Donald Trump at a time when it was clear to everyone that the risk was high.

More than that, he did this without any effort to show Alberta as a capable and eager partner in the global fight against climate change.

Alberta started banning protests, suing environmentalists, starting senseless war rooms and holding a bogus public inquiry based on the same junk science of climate denial parroted by UCP MLAs sitting in our legislature.

The UCP mocked Greta Thunberg and the Premier himself went out of his way to call the President-elect’s campaign co-chair “braindead”.

None of this amounts to anything close to the sophisticated strategy and smooth diplomacy Albertans deserve from their leaders… especially when the entire future of our energy industry is at stake.
It’s childish and it’s embarrassing.
Because Alberta is better than this.

We ARE energy leaders, it’s in our blood.

We CAN honour our history, and secure our future.

Alberta can, once again, be a global energy superpower in ALL forms of energy.

We need to show the world who we are beyond these energy politics and that we are using our skills to join the world in tackling international problems… and that will attract international attention… and international investment. (6/6)
