I was interested lately in reading about commedia dell’arte and pantomime traditions where the villain/demon traditionally enters/exits stage left, among their other traditions
The reason for entering stage left was its association with the devil, and indeed ‘left’ in Italian is “sinistra”.
Though they switch sides a few times in the battle of Crait, Kylo’s army is always favouring the left and the resistance are always right. This is carried thru from earlier in the movie when Rey/Kylo face Snoke, whose throne always favours screen left.
