Here is the evidence (easier to point people to it, prior to being asked) that the pipeline was approved by a US Senate bill, and was passed by the Congress in February 2015.

Do you know you whose signature is on this bill (even though it was later vetoed by Obama)? 🤔

I am wondering why he’s done this, the argument against the pipeline (environmental) are now pretty redundant as a lot of the work is done, and it’s not going to change the amount of oil Americans consume. It just made it easier to get it to them.

Given that there’s already 1 pipeline and this was an additional one following the same path (from my knowledge) it was to increase capacity. Instead more oil will be imported into America from other places, via a method of transportation, this will have a constant carbon impact!
To answer the question, the bill for the pipeline that was “enrolled” and voted through correctly would have had the signature of the VP at the time. Who was it? That’s right, Joe Biden.

I believe it’s a requirement regardless of his opinion, but still, it’s interesting IMO.

So, 11,000 American jobs lost in his first week, and he’s likely ruined a project that had promised zero carbon emissions and will actually have the impact of increasing emissions instead. Not sure this is a great start to his presidency. 🤷‍♂️

There’s also another loss to America in this, there was a plan (from the company running this pipeline) to invest $1.7bn in solar, wind and battery power. Which would have led to further Carbon Emissions reductions. 🤦‍♂️⚠️
