It is baffling seeing some of the #OpenSource community embrace what amounts to shareware in order to make a profit.
I love shareware! I got into games on floppy disks! But it's not freeware, and pretending that it is is intellectually dishonest.
We have a word for software that isn't open source, or the parts of software that isn't open source: proprietary

I know that a lot of folks have a knee-jerk reaction to that word, but if it looks like a duck...
Is open source perfect? Hell no! Are there issues to be addressed? Most definitely.

And we can do that, without making open source less open.
