The most important part in organizing a hacker house is:
Great people.
However, attracting great people is a process and if done poorly it could hurt your experience.
Let's bring transparency on how to do this!
Great people.

Let's bring transparency on how to do this!

As an organizer, it's your job to curate the experience
You're setting the:
- Mission
- Type of Person
- Values
- Location
- Mood
- COVID-19 Policy
- Recruitment Process
Let's dive into the details of each of these points
You're setting the:
- Mission
- Type of Person
- Values
- Location
- Mood
- COVID-19 Policy
- Recruitment Process
Let's dive into the details of each of these points

Before deciding to organize a house, ask yourself a few key questions:
- What's the house's purpose?
- What should others expect to get out of it?
- What do you aim to get out of it?
Your answers will set the stage for attracting the right type of person.

After determining your mission. Decide on who you want to come to your experience.
Founders? Aspiring Founders? Investors? Engineers? Designers? All of the above?
Figure out who you want to cater to and go all in on that type of person.

Chances are your group has shared values and you can use these values in shaping how you present the experience
Aspiring founder house?
Set up co-founder dating opportunities
Engineering house?
Hackathons on hackathons
Set up fun & relevant events for your group!

Before you recruit a single person. You must determine where you'd like to go.

People just want to be around other great people, then show up somewhere.
Asking around will only waste your time and damage trust.

You want to give people confidence that they're coming to something great
High energy. Big smiles. Words of affirmation.
The way you present the experience is sometimes the biggest factor in pushing people over the edge in coming to your house.

Remember, were still in the middle of a pandemic and people are on edge that they'll get sick
It's up to you to create a safe policy that people feel comfortable with
Here was the Maker Manor's COVID-19 Policy for reference: http://www.together.casa/covid-19-policy

This is the most difficult part of putting together a house and honestly I can write an entire thread about just this alone
