Slowly, people that voted Leave are realising how they were manipulated & coerced by Tory extremism. That it had to take them losing their jobs & livelihoods to see truth is as much their fault as it is the press in allowing such disinformation to spread.
They didn’t change their minds when the lies of the Vote Leave campaign & politicians were exposed. They didn’t change their minds when I came forward with proof of the most serious breach of democracy in recent history. And they didn’t change their minds when racism spread.
And they are to blame for the allegiance to white supremacy that underlined their belief in independence and ‘freedom’. But not entirely. For the BBC and majority of the press worked hand in hand with these people to make sure this disinformation was not questioned or critiqued.
I have personal experience & evidence of BBC editors & journalists coordinating with the Vote Leave criminals to circumvent and stop the spread of truth. And what we are now seeing is people losing jobs because of it.
What we need are not just coherent progressive strategies, but robust, immediate regulation of a press that is owned by criminals, zealots & the most corrupt of humanity. A free press can only be free when it is not controlled by those that strip the freedom of truth.
I say enough to engaging with right-wing British journalists because majority of them have a proven track record of confirming to ideological extremism. They are not journalists, writers or academics - merely mouthpieces of a conservative majority that seek only profit & greed.
If we, as supposed progressives that believe in justice, love & kindness can not silence people who choose deceit, lies & greed - they will always win. Our kindness & empathy should not extend to those that are powerful & use their power to inflict harm on a public already numb.
Choosing love means choosing to stamp out actions & words that inhibit the spread of it. It means a strong fist & an unquestionable pride in protecting the poor & marginalised & weak. We must stop meeting them in the middle, and start pulling everyone else hard into our corner.
We can not & must not wait for men like in this video to ever come round to our side. Because they never will - until or unless their world turns upside down. And for men like him that is in fact a rarity. Many others have had their world turned upside down since 2016 & before.
We can and must focus on the latter. Love to you all. x
