i haven’t seen anyone talking about it so here’s a thread on what’s going on in russia at the moment

on thursday, august 20(2020) alexei navalny, a russian oppositionist, was poisoned with novichok agent chemical weapon, it’s the deadliest nerve agent and was designed as part of soviet programme.
protests in support of alexei navalny were held in russia before, in december 2016 he announced his intention to run for president in 2018, but was arrested which bans him from running for president for 10 years
there was an investigation that navalny with support of independent journalists and companies which revealed a lot of facts that showed people that putin and fss stalked navalny for three years and tried to murder him at least twice and poison his wife once
on 18th of january, 2021, navalny has been arrested for 30 days, some people believe he’s been arrested for simply not dying. his team announced that there will be protests in 42 cities on 23rd of january.
navalny himself said that these protests are not for him of for his freedom, but for the future of russians. these protests are unsanctioned which means protesters will most likely be arrested and some killed.

on 19th of january navalny’s team posted a video on his youtube channel called “putin’s palace” which has been trending in russia for 2 days already(there’re currently 49 million views)
in that investigation navalny tells about putin’s source of income which is corruption. we want to stop that! we can’t pay more taxes because our “tsar” wants a bigger palace for himself, his friends and prostitutes.
his whole regime is built on stealing money from the people, his closest friends all have high positions in russian politics.
