I spoke with a teacher today with medical accommodation. She said “as soon as I get both doses of the vaccine I’m coming back to school!”

This is excellent & needs to happen for all teachers. @NYCSchools & @UFT — what is the plan to get teachers back. Questions:
Will more families opt for in-person learning once teachers are vaccinated? Once adult family members are vaccinated? How will we shift the messaging to show schools ARE safe for their children?
Will vaccinated teachers who want to return to the building be assigned in person responsibilities instead of remote responsibilities? How will this look for hundreds of thousands of students who are fully remote?
If we begin to return fully, will we be readdressing the 6ft distancing rule & room capacities? Current ratios are nice & all but not sustainable for staffing. I don’t want 32 kids in a room, but would be fine with 16 instead of 9.
What is the plan for accommodated teachers who chose not to get the vaccine? I think this is fine & their choice, but they can no longer be granted accommodation once they have made that choice. Right?
