When my dad was admitted in hospital..All tests including HepatitsC were done & came -ve. After 1week, they said get same tests again. I asked Y again? Blood transfusions are being done by u after screening- Do u realise I can sue u if it comes +ve? She immediately said not reqd.
Everyday Nurse used to come & dump medicines by the dozen. We were like- why u keeping so many meds in drawer- Doc said it will be adjusted at time of discharge. My cousin sis who herself is a Pathologist said lets keep record. For some days we did.. Then I told her +
Leave it. Whatever Meds they are giving are in the File. So if You are precribing a medicine say Erthromycin - it will be BD for 5 days. Similar for other meds. We will pay only according to that. When bill came they said we have adjusted. I said show file & show meds given +
We will pay only according to that. Talked to admin guy- told him if say for example u are giving crocin- max u can give is 4 in a day. Dose of meds is in records. I will pay only that. He got the point.Result- They had to refund nearly 1.5lakhs
Not everyone is educated or knows all medical stuff. Patients are fleeced especially in big hospitals. Doctors themselves are under pressure to get all sorts of tests done. Its a fact. Doctors know it. Dont do it Yaar. Bahut ho gaya Noble profession ko business bana diya hai
