You may have noticed the launch of a separate campaign worker union in Washington recently, on which we offer some clarity. Without permission or collaboration, this group of workers directly copied language and content from our website, our mission, and our branding.
CWG met with members of the collective over the last two months to resolve this and move forward together as one union, but the collective has announced affiliation with a non-campaign worker led union, using our language and content.
Hundreds of campaign workers across the country have worked tirelessly and taken many risks to build a union that is by and for campaign workers.
Worker-led victories happen when campaign workers organize together, not when groups fracture our movement, plagiarize, and start from scratch.
We are currently taking steps to protect our union and stay on our path to bring thousands more campaign workers together and continue to transform our industry.
As we’ve said since the beginning: we build movements and now we’re building our own. #onward #1u #clipboardsandcontracts
And if you’re a current or former campaign worker who hasn’t joined our union yet, please do! You can join hundreds of other dues paying CWG members across the country by signing up at http://campaignworkersguild.org/join
You can follow @CWG_Workers.
