A THREAD: Yemen is still on the brink of extinction due to a US backed proxy war. The Houthi Rebels are backed by the Iran whereas Saudi Arabia is backed by the US. Both entities are fighting to gain control of the region with Yemen caught in the middle. Essentially it is over
control of the ports. To get through anywhere in the Middle East, you have to the Red and/or Arabian Sea. These are imperative trading routes. Whoever controls these routes, controls all the money. UAE plays a part in this as well, as they have taken control of the island of
Socotra. As a result, the USA has a trade blockade. Yemen is unable to receive food, water, medical supplies and water that would simply allow civilians to survive. Add in the fact that there is massive inflation due to the Houthi rebels now controlling the banks and you have
a country in famine, turmoil and on the brink of collapse. Interested to see what the new administration does in response to a crisis that we ourselves created.
There are a lot of typos in this but I wrote it quickly on my phone during my lunch break, my apologies.
