Short thread on Podcasting & my work:
I've been working full-time @1129Media1 for exactly a year.
In that time we have put out loads of content & had millions of downloads and interactions.
Lines from our pods have made front page news, it's been an incredible ride.

Loads of people have podcasts at the moment and I think that's great for them and also for audio as an industry.
I get asked a lot about how to build an audience and the answer is....... there is no silver bullet BUT....

There is a few things you can do.
Firstly be consistent... with frequency of release and content. The listener needs to know what they are going to get roughly when they are going to get it.

Build a community dare I use the word brand. The podcast should sit in the middle of it but use every tool you have to connect to the listener and build yout community. Make your listener feel part of something.
By this I really mean social media of course.
We have had success on twitter, facebook, insta and TikTok in finding our audience.
Podcasts tend to be niche and that's great but it means you may have to work hard to find your audience.

I know this sounds obvious but when you have a listener talk to them.
The biggest driver of audience growth is word of mouth!
Don't be afraid to ask your listener to tell people about it.

Also, remember episode 10 of your pod will sound very different to episode 1 and episode 30 will be very different to episode 10, your pod will find it's groove and will evolve and that's ok.
That said... if you're thinking of starting a podcast series with the view of it being continuous then my advice is to consider what you'll talk about in the medium and long term.
Again I add, these are just a few things I've noticed and I'm sure you can all point to examples where I'm proved wrong.
