#RunOn why the yejun-yeonghwa storyline is gonna hurt so bad: a thread

the first time we see yejun, he sits down on the couch and gazes at yeonghwa painting from a short distance

yeonghwa then asks him why he skipped church and yejun proceeds to tell him he quit being a christian 3 years ago. this gives us a hint that he’s been dealing with his sexuality and religion for quite some time now

we see more of his gazing at yeonghwa in the next few eps

yeonghwa’s never fallen in love before until he met danah. at this point, yejun is confused about yeonghwa’s actions, and we see him trying to connect the dots in a few scenes

when he comes home drunk to sleep over at yeonghwa’s house but leaves after he sees seongyeom sleeping on the bed...

when yechan asked this, i thought she meant it ironically but i have a feeling that she does know about yejun’s sexuality (more on this on ep 12)

the very faint smile he gave when he said “good to know you’re not the prince”

and this whole conversation?? i’m pretty sure he said “do you want hyung to by you a drink?” bc when he asked yeonghwa who seongyeom was (prev ep) yeonghwa said oh just a “hyung” i know

++ when yeonghwa asks yejun to pray just for him yejun scoffs and says yeonghwa really knows nothing about him implying that he does, indeed, take up a huge part of his prayers that’s christian guilt and homosexuality representation y’all

again, yejun yearningly gazes at yeonghwa but this time, danah catches a glimpse of it

i'm guessing yechan does know about yejun's feelings for yeonghwa because she brought it up after seeing her brother sitting at the back, obviously distraught. that can't be purely coincidental....right?? (but i'm probably biased because i have intuitive siblings)

we still don’t know for sure what yejun’s sexuality is but what we know for now is that the initial character chart included a loveline bet. him and yeonghwa (w/c is obv one-sided) ++

++ also! Run On writer is very smart and conscious about the way they portray lgbtqia+ themes (e.x. danah being knowledgeable abt sexuality, the american actor has a boyfriend, may is asexual)

so whether or not they explicitly say yejun is gay/bi wouldnt rlly matter bc they’ve successfully incorporated queer themes w/o it being in-your-face. we KNOW yejun loves yeonghwa. let’s look forward as to how they’re gonna neatly wrap it up manifesting yejun happiness
