HERE'S SOME ART RESOURCES THAT REALLY HELPED ME:
devin korwin has a few threads on color and value, which explains a lot of ideas better than i've seen explained in most youtube videos, etc

Here is an important one on edges: https://twitter.com/devinkorwin/status/1235296424247668745
and another on values: https://twitter.com/devinkorwin/status/1227615888016388098?s=21
and this one is one of my favorites, the importance of Chroma, helped me a ton when I work from greyscale to color! it finally clicked to me why my greyscales were so hard to colorize: https://twitter.com/devinkorwin/status/1285646784929439744?s=21
if you do digital art, please consider looking into and studying all the blending modes! or even just your favorite 3 that you use often. try to understand what the multiply, overlay layers do, it will help you have better control over your colors! https://twitter.com/sulamoon/status/1278307633896861698?s=21
this is a great video that goes into more detail about each blending mode, even if you don't have time or the mental energy to study all of them at once, when you use layer just skip around the video and study a little on how the one you are using works!
If you're curious about perspective, this is a pretty good INTRODUCTION book on all the basics you need to know for painting, it doesn't go into extreme detail, but it has the solid foundations that are important for all artists!

I won't be linking PDF
krenz is a taiwanese artist and teaches his own classes, he posts a lot of studies and tips on here and facebook. if you speak chinese, consider listening to some of his lectures, he is a very technical artist and studying his studies has helped me a lot https://twitter.com/KrenzCushart/status/966659688526880769
not exactly fundies related but, i really like sycra’s explanation of artblock and the types of artists/how we each improve, why some faster than others

it really motivates me as someone who has been in “art block” for 5 years but tries to draw daily:
I also really want to urge yall not to just skip the long wordy threads. many of them have images that might look confusing but really are trying to help! the simple, “tips and tricks” tutorials are very helpful but often more of a shortcut than fundamentals, so-
please don’t just look at the thumbnail image and decide to skip it when jt comes with too many words.

its a huge shame the “quick tip” images get more retweets than the long threads, which are in fact gold mines 🥺
basically everything you need to know about color and optics here:
http://www.huevaluechroma.com/

it is a ton of information so please read slowly and absorb what resonates with you, and revisit it. theres a lot of common mistakes everyone makes that is pointed out, like when- (cont.)
- drawing the highlights of an eyeball, why does different placement of the white highlight make the eyes look cross eyed? because where the light hits is not actually where we see the highlight:

there’s a lot of info, think about how to apply it slowly!

a few of these resources are very in depth and really is almost EVERYTHING you need to know about painting...but there is so much information its hard to just read through and apply all of it. I’ll try to dig through later and kind of highlight parts that were very helpful to me
It’s easy to look at all these resources and just read through them. but feeding yourself the right info at the right stage of learning is important. you have to have a base of experience already to understand the next lesson, so thats why it’s important to revisit lessons
