Great conversations around vaccine confidence at the weekly Ontario #behaviouralscience working group table. It will be key for Ontario to fire on all cylinders when it comes to communication. A 🧵:

1/6
Communications need to target several different groups. Healthcare professionals, high risk groups, and the general public. Effective messaging strategies and what they target will be different for each group.

@SabiVM has been a champion in this area.

2/6
We need to ensure healthcare professionals are equipped with the right messaging. Primary care providers will be key owing to the strong relationships they build with Ontarians.

3/6
But it’s equally important that we reach the general public. Government, TV, and media outlets have a huge role to play in helping to promote clear messaging and dispel public concerns.

Key takeaway = *every* Ontarian has the ability to make a difference when it comes to promoting vaccine confidence. Sharing the evidence from experts like @jkwan_md @BogochIsaac @ASPphysician @NoahIvers @NathanStall @JPresseau with our networks is invaluable.

5/6
How can we do that?

✅ Listen to concerns
✅ Validate them
✅ Share the evidence in plain language
✅ Link the message to what matters to people

When it comes to vaccine confidence, we are truly in this together.
