Ok if we’re gonna call Joe Biden’s continued support for liberal capitalism “fascism,” could we all just admit that fascism means “the thing we don’t like” and move on
I understand that ppl hate subtweets and want me to name names so as to avoid strawmanning positions. But 1) this happens all the time. 2) I don’t wanna make anyone feel bad, because 3) I’m pretty much fine with calling bad government fascists and just being like “wow true.”
I would ask the people who say that bidens past capitalist, racist policies ARE fascist because of their cruelty, what exactly does the word fascist even matter then? Doesn’t it basically just accomplish the function “he’s bad, like for real tho.” That’s how it always feels to me
(Also see how you don’t need to mention specific people. like replies do just feel this way. Y’all had me worrying for a second lol. Worrying that I made a guy up completely)
What I will say is kind of a bummer about this, even tho I don’t care THAT much, is that calling the worst aspects of Biden “fascism” does a disservice to how terrible liberalism can be. Like doing a terrible racist thing doesn’t exclude you from being a liberal imo, not at all
i tell myself im not gonna make tweets that start up a whole discourse, and then i do it lol. just wanna say this before leaving tho. hating bad things and loving good things is what's important. the purity of the word "fascist" doesn't add up to a whole lot in the grand scheme
