Look, I get that a lot of people hate Castro for a variety of reasons (the griping about obvious third called strikes was legitimately annoying), but some of it is misplaced due to the role he was forced into.
Castro was never *really* a best player on the team, middle of the order guy, but because the Astros teams he was on were so bad, that was the role he had. So, yeah, if you’re expecting that kinda production it’s easy to think he’s garbage.
But he won’t have that role at all here now. As a backup, platoon guy, or even primary catcher who hits at the bottom of the lineup, he’ll be perfectly serviceable in that role, and probably a decent upgrade over who we’ve had in those roles the last few years.
