Saw a Northern River Otter crossing the Boise River! Otters are so much fun to watch. Didn't think much as I tracked the critter in the viewfinder...
Then the otter caught the eye of a Great Blue Heron, which was CLEARLY paying attention to the otter...
Once the otter made it to the bank and hopped out, I saw WHY the heron was so interested! Look at the size of the fish!
Then ALL the locals gave chase!
The otter made it safely to its den, catch in tow. But the drama of it all, haha!
There isn't a single time outdoors where I don't find some new aspect of nature to give me a moment of awe. This was so cool to witness.😎
