Folks here is a thread about a word which I made up but I find kinda useful - "Daeshification".

So I did my MA thesis on Neo Nazism in the US in the 1960s. Since the 20s, the US Far Right - the Klans, the US Fascists, etc - had been a fairly *dignified* political movement. They ran political machines, lobbied candidates and contested elections.
For a bunch of reasons, though, in the 1960s, they basically lost faith in anything happening via existing political structures. The whole system, in their eyes, was corrupt, and needed to be violently challenged.
