Being good and nice, and enthusiastic does not train you for spiritual warfare.

You do not win wars with those virtues.

You may win friends, (which is nice)

Teach us to war effectively, Lord.
We must continually remember that our warfare is against Spiritual enemies.

Our weapons of warfare are not carnal (earthly/physical) but mighty through God for the pulling down of strongholds.

Our invisible soul fights an invisible enemy.
This morning the Holy Spirit reminded me of when He was talking to me about the Human Soul.
I felt He was saying that the teaching was important, and for a reason.
We may have to revisit some of that.
Do you remember me talking about the human soul?
Let's go back to some of the basics.

1. We are 2/3 invisible (Soul and Spirit)
2. We are 1/3 visible (Body)
3. All 3 parts of us are interconnected.
When we fight an invisible enemy, what part of us needs to be trained?

The invisible part of us, of course.

You don't take a knife to a gun fight.
The visual that the HS gave me was of a student being trained to fight with a sword. First they practice, learn how to use it.
A sword in an untrained hand, can be dangerous to the person holding the sword.
The Sword of the Spirit is the Word of God.

Get to know the Sword first
Getting to know your Sword (Word of God) is a daunting task, since there is so much.
However, the Holy Spirit is your Teacher.
Ask Him for direction.
Small beginnings are honored by God.
Lord, help me take Your Word as literally as possible today.
Show me what I need to believe for today.

Please give me wisdom.
Please give me a desire to hear Your Voice, today.

I pray this for my friends, too.
In Your Name, Jesus.
