Umm...good morning..?
Getting a twitter account in the trump era doesn’t prepare you for this platform after.
I assumed scrolling preparing to be angry was what this site was about?

I hate every word to describe twitter relationships. Followers? Mutuals?
if I followed you during the trump era and you followed me I think of us as friends and people with a lot of friends tend to have no real friends, so I keep my follow count intentionally low.

I’ve always kept to myself and off most if not all social media but the first two years of Trump I felt like I was drowning in anger and twitter allowed me to swim in it and the people I argued with, battle with against assholery and realized we care about the same thing...
People. They allowed me to keep swimming when tired and now I’m back on shore and i can see how much anger I expressed in some of my tweets which as a writer is the worst place to write from and send out in the world unchallenged because Trumpism felt life or death and it was.
I hope that all of us who fought together against Trump online and offline and will fight him the rest of his life can for a bit unhardened themselves for a moment and remember a you not fighting him so we can keep fighting people like him tomorrow without losing ourselves.
It wasn't until Trump I could admit I was born into abuse and cruelty meant to make me cruel, too and forged a shield to keep me kind until I could escape. You're wrong. It's not that you can't feel or won't feel again. It's that you learned to stop: https://twitter.com/jkingsbury67/status/1352150484132495362
and that's how you got through this. It takes a while to feel again. This is normal.
