My MO on this site is to subtweet patterns of behavior or established talking points/arguments. Going after individuals does little, because one person saying something that's been repeated 10,000 times before is like closing the barn door after the horse is gone
Going after individuals makes them defensive, which makes their friends defensive, and then your friend get mad, and then you're just debating about hurt feelings rather than the topic or confluence of topics

I'd rather talk about something else but people mad online
And even if somebody is *really* wrong, by the time I see it, a hundred or more people have already gone in directly. The enemy has already been slain, but nothing was really resolved because we're so hung up on The Bad Take Haver

And thus, eternal suffering 😎
And I get it. Acknowledgement of The Bad Take and talking about it at all is opening yourself up to accusations of chasing drama for clout or cheap heat

Some arguments don't need the oxygen, and should be left to obscurity

But also...it's my account and I pick the snacks
And sometimes the conversation is for the onlookers and passers-by, not the OP. I don't want to convince OP that they're wrong, most of the time. But I want to offer a rhetorical rebuttal for those listening in

I don't actually want to fight people

If I did, I'd just go do it
