When Sia first posted about Music many autistic people were worried about the inauthentic portrayal of an autistic character that inevitably comes from casting non-autistic actors and that it would be inspiration porn. Turns out the reality is much worse than this.

As many people have said, a film that portrays an autistic character being restrained during a meltdown in a way that in real life has killed autistic people, is dangerous and could result in real harm to real autistic people.

I feel like this should be a lesson to all the people who claim someone should watch a film/read a book if they think it’s going to be problematic.
People should’ve listened to us when we said this was going to be bad for autistic people and they should listen now.
