The thing about Joe Biden is that, unlike Trump, he doesn't lose his shit the second he is criticized, so there's really no reason for Democrats to treat him like he's a motion-sensitive bomb we must handle gently. I imagine he EXPECTS progressives to push him! that's the job!
There was a great Slate article during the primaries I think about constantly about how basically, we're not electing Biden to be a magical savior who will Fix All The Things
we're electing a better, fairer opponent for all the progressive fights we have to keep fighting anyway

Obviously I think the gleeful meanness that so defines the Trump era should die in a fire, but I plan to approach the next four years by showing Joe Biden the respect of holding him to high standards, pushing him to do better, and not being afraid to call him out when we need to.
I say this because it feels like there's an energy already building up On Here implying that the choices are either A) be happy about Biden or B) criticize him for not being perfect and it's not just that I think there IS a third way, I think that's kind of the ONLY effective way
We do not have to tiptoe around the butthurt feelings of a fragile narcissist who could lash out and genuinely harm people if his feathers were ruffled by a mean tweet
We can meet the current administration on level ground, as citizens with the right to expect things from them.

Just very excited to go back to fighting it out about issues that matter instead of catering to the personality and whims of the world's worst person
