Greatness of Hindu belief system .. a small thread

Today we start next round of agriculture cycle . As customary we (myself and person who manages) went to our temple and presented the presiding deity a small portion of this years produce ...

we presented Bananas but it could have been anything ... there is a special variety of Banana (Kadhali) which we only use for Pooja

the Pooja was handled by a Brahmin priest .. the Prasadam was a small portion of banana and usual Prasadams

Then we visited “Mala” (mountain) temple . Here offering is liquor, betel nut, paan leaf etc ...

Pooja was done was folks who used to live in mountains. They are not trained priests . We did everything with same reverence. Offering is a portion of liquor and betel nut, paan leaf

Imagine which other belief system would have such extremes. Both of it represents Hinduism. Both temple priests were Hindus ... devotees were Hindus

Hope people who want to Straightjacket Hinduism understand this. don’t destroy our diversity. Our capability to include extremes is our strength and key to our survival

A person who takes Ganga jal as theertham is Hindus so is a person who takes liquor as theertham from temple
