Thinking a lot these days about our elders. My tradition does not dictate how we should think or feel about the aged. Rather, Judaism places emphasis on doing - on the outward expressions of respect and care. What we THINK does not matter the most, it is how we BEHAVE.
Now more than ever, there is a duty of urgency to ACT and awareness that time is slipping away. “If I am only for myself, what am I? If not now, when?” - Hillel the Elder (not Emma Watson btw)
AJ Heschel: “Morally speaking, there is no limit to the concern one must feel for the suffering of human beings. Indifference to evil is worse than evil itself... in a free society some are guilty, but all are responsible.”

True in 2021 as it was in 1972. We are all responsible.
