Content creation has so many highs & lows, but I'm seeing LOTS of creators not understand their audiences.
Let's chat about the big mistakes & misconceptions I'm seeing

Changing Games & Your Audience
Viewers can say that they're your biggest fan, that they love you, and only show up for one game. That's normal!
If a viewer found you on X game, but you play Y game and your viewership drops... that's to be expected.
But why?

But why?

If you're watching HGTV every night, but suddenly ESPN shows up there.. it's jarring
As a creator, YOU have to make your audience love YOU and not just you playing a specific game.
Educate your audience, remind them you play other games, sell them on game Y while playing game X

"Everyone Only Watches This Game!
"
There will always be a game or two that draws massive views in comparison to others.
If you're spending time creating hype behind a game & the experience it'll give your audience, however, you can be the catalyst for why a random game pops

You're never going to get 100% of your audience to watch JUST you. People watch streams based on moods, their personal schedules, and yes.. CCV of the streamer.
Focus on those that show up, and give them one hell of a show regardless of how many people are there.

Stop Sulking, It's Someone's First Time Viewing
Every single stream you do will be someone's first time watching you. Sulking because of viewership (or problems out of your control) can ruin that experience.
Focus on delivering a fun & engaging stream each & every time,

"But I can't today, I don't feel up to it
"
This is perfectly fine! In the words of Marshawn Lynch: "Take care of your chicken & take care of your mental health"
A short-term gain isn't worth long-term pain.

"No One Responds to My Collabs
"
This is probably a "you" issue. If you're reaching out, and no one is responding.. you're doing something wrong.
Collabs should be a two-way street, and they should focus on finding friends & people that you can ultimately vibe with.

If the first time a streamer ever hears from you is you asking to collab, they'll probably say no
Like a relationship, take time to really understand if you & that person would vibe (think through both sides). Don't just hit someone up because they have a large following.

Show genuine support for their content over a long period of time.
When you reach out, do it with a GENUINE message that's catered to them & why you think you'd do great. Send a clip or two of your content & your schedule.
Still, they may say no (or not reply) & that's okay

Easy fix. Do you have friends or family that support your goal? Tell them when you stream, and explain WHY them watching helps you.
When someone is in your chat, do your best to talk to them, ask questions about THEM, and remind them of your schedule

Do you watch your own content back? 75% of people that I talk to don't watch their own content.
You might think you've got an amazing stream, but when you watch it back.. you'll realize how much you could have improved.
If you won't watch your content, why should someone else?

"I've Been Trying for Months With No Luck
"
This may sound harsh, but content creation isn't for everyone. You can try to do everything to the best of your ability & still fail, and that's okay. You tried!
Just like I tried to be in the NBA, it ultimately didn't work

What's NOT okay though, is to not learn anything through your journey. Every "loss" is an opportunity to learn something & improve yourself.
Maybe you weren't great at this exact style of content, but you learned that you were great at something else. Find your strengths!

TL;DR - Content creation is hard, be your own biggest critic, and understand that most of the time you can do better.
