I know many of us are stoned on the high of inauguration, but tune in to the PG City Council meeting to hear about resident rage over a city that took eight months to offload a militia-affiliated police officer.
“Not one more dollar until we get accountability,” says one commenter.
“It’s important to remember racism can be internalized,” another commenter says. Said officer is Latino.
Commenter pointing out that citizens pointed out the militia bumper stickers on the officer‘s car, and citizens found the officer’s verified Parler (RIP) account. They wonder why it took citizens to point out the bumper stickers visible to the entire department every day.
People are flaying the chief, Cathy Madalone, for keeping the internal investigations close to the vest. But I don’t think they realize how incredibly powerful police unions, and the police officers bill of rights (PORAC) have become, mostly to the detriment of society.
When I was doing SB 1421 reporting, the law firm that represents most every police union in California, Mastagni Holstedt, made reporting incredibly difficult.
”We cannot trust your training,” commenter says. ”Your silence” on the fact they had a Three Percenter affiliate on the Pd, “is deafening.”
Ok, public comment on PG City Council over. Really going to watch inauguration coverage now, with cocktail.
