By popular demand, a thread about Israeli centrist parties
So in the last election, 3 centrist parties ran in alliance called "Blue and White", they were the "Israel Resilience Party" (ex-military, people who get a hard on for ex-military), "Yesh Atid" (anti-religious urban neo-libs), and "Telem" (anti-Bibi conservatives)
The Israeli Resilience Party joined Bibi's government and the other two parties did not and left the alliance. Israeli Resilience Party kept the name "Blue and White" even though it was now an alliance of one party
Also two guys from Telem wanted to join the Bibi government too and left Telem to form their own party called "Derekh Eretz" which has since merged into the anti-Bibi center-right party "New Hope"
So with Telem and Derekh Eretz: The pro-Bibi faction of the anti-Bibi conservative party broke away to support Bibi then joined another anti-Bibi conservative party. Very stupid. Shit like this happens all the time in Israel. Moving on
Israel Resilience Party/Blue and White (they're the same thing) might get into parliament if they run on their own, they might not. They might form an alliance with another party, maybe with hawkish New Right party, maybe with New Hope, maybe with Yesh Atid (again)
Yesh Atid probably running on their own. Doing very well in the polls. Will probably come in second or third (behind Likud and/or New Hope)
No way in hell Telem makes it back into parliament on their own. They may try to form an alliance with another party but no one really wants to form an alliance with them because they're not that popular. May just not run at all
Ron Huldai, long time Mayor of Tel Aviv and former member of the Labor Party, formed a new center-left party called "The Israelis". "The Israelis" will definitely be able to win seats on their own but they may form an alliance with other parties to get more
The Labor Party itself is not centrist, it's going to be led by a shrill feminist lady named Merav Michaeli who is very anti-Bibi but it probably can't win any seats in parliament on its own so they will probably join a coalition with "The Israelis" and other centrist parties
The New Economy Party is a dumb new party started by some former Finance Ministry employee named Yaron Zelekha. No way this party wins seats on its own. Zelekha's goal is to threaten to waste a bunch of votes unless someone forms an alliance with him and makes him deputy leader
