For Republicans suddenly searching for a playbook, it isn’t difficult:

—Efficient, effective government
—Constitution & rule of law
—Religious freedom
—Honesty
—Strong border/defense
—Character
—Federalism/10A
—Conservation
—Education reform
—Pro-family policies

The trick is Republicans have to start fighting for IDEAS again instead of for Trump. You can’t just put on a red hat, shout America, and call it a day. Real and lasting change requires more work than that.

There’s even a way to champion tighter immigration policies in a way that’s serious, humane, & additive to broader reform. Have the courage to celebrate legal immigrants; invest in the gates instead of the physical walls that sound good, but don’t work; don’t separate families.
