There are thousands of people incarcerated in hundreds of other ICE prisons around the country during this deadly pandemic because they were born on the wrong side of an imaginary line.

Groups like @Free_Migration, @NSC_CS, @ShutDownBerks, and @SanctuaryAustin asked the Biden campaign and then the Biden Transition Team if @JoeBiden would commit to closing ICE family prisons and liberating people living in sanctuary churches. They're still waiting for an answer.

To those who say give him time, these things don’t happen overnight, I ask why have @JoeBiden and @KamalaHarris been silent for so long about whether ICE will liberate families under a Biden administration?

We watched as President Obama created a massive family detention program and then handed the keys to Trump. We watched as families that received deportation orders because of Obama’s punitive policies were forced to take refuge in houses of worship under Trump.

To those who counsel patience, I ask you to spend a single night in a prison being ravaged by COVID. One night in a sanctuary church knowing that ICE could be waiting if you step outside.

One night beside your child in an ICE family prison, unable to give them basic medical care, edible food, or freedom because those decisions have been taken from your control.
