I understand the fear that fascist and other white supremacist formations will recruit disaffected Q ppl—it is *the* fear. But I think there are some impediments internal to Q that will hamper that recruitment, despite the fact that Q is ideologically totally fascist.
Q was basically supercharged cruel optimism; it enabled an attachment to a state they otherwise hated because they had a couple of guys on the inside, with a Plan, controlling everything, saturating everything with meaning.
The desire for Daddy Trump and the Q team to be in total control is of course deeply fascist. Q goes a step further, tho, and made it a matter of certitude. Their fascist dream state already existed; public reality just hadn’t caught up yet.
One effect of this certainty was that Q ppl didn’t ever really have to do anything to bring this reality about besides bearing witness to it. Get the popcorn, enjoy the movie, patriots are now in control.
(J6 is an important exception, as are the random acts of violence before that. But so much of this violence was premised on Trump’s approval and support. Not just the pardon fantasy—I’m thinking of the guy who prayed to Q while crazy speeding with his family in the car)
The state of being-certain is IMO the affective core of Q. I don’t think there are really any fascist groups that provide certainty *of that type* to adherents. As militant radicals, they can’t: they assume the openness and plasticity of the future.
The question of recruitment comes down to: Will Q ppl who have realized their certainty about the Plan was empirically wrong shed the state of being-certain as what they want out of political subjectivity?
Another way of putting this: Q is deeply anti-political, both because Daddy has already taken care of things, and because it refuses contingency, openness, agon, etc. “Will Q ppl become fascists?” is the same question, basically, as “Will Q ppl discover politics?”
